“He created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes the night to go in the day, and makes the day to go in the night. And he has subjected the sun and the moon. Each running(on fixed course) for an appointed term. Verily, He is the all-mighty, the oft-forgiving.”
Quran surah Al-Zumar:5
Universe is sum total of all matter and energy that exists or has existed both in space and time. The universe also defined as ” the totality of everything that exists, including all matter, energy, the planets, stars, galaxies and the contents of intergalactic space.”
” The problem of the origin of the universe is a bit like the old question. Which comes first, the chicken, or the egg? In other words, what agency created the universe? And what created that agency? Or perhaps the universe or the agency that created it, existed forever, and did not need to be created.”
(Stephen Hawking)
the heavens and the earth were joined together as one unit, before We clove them asunder” (21:30).
Following this big explosion,
Allah “turned to the sky, and it had been (as) smoke. He said to it and to the earth: ‘Come together, willingly or unwillingly.
The early Universe was not bound by the laws of physics as we know them today. Consequently, we can not predict with great accuracy what the universe looked like during the first minutes of the creation. In spite of this, scientists have been able to construct an approximate representation of how the universe evolved.
“And yet it moves” (Galileo Galilee)
“The heavens, We have built them with power. And verily, We are expanding it” (51:47)
Scientists believe that the universe was initially so hot and dense that even elementary particles like protons and neutrons could not exist. Instead, different types of matter called matter and anti-matter collided together creating pure energy. But as the universe began to cool, during the first few minutes, protons and neutrons began to form. Then slowly over time, these protons, neutrons and electrons came together to form hydrogen and small amount of Helium. During the billions of years that followed, stars, planets and galaxies formed to create the universe as we see it today.
Allah created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in six days” (7:54)
The Qur’an describes that Allah “made from water every living thing” (21:30). Another verse describes how “Allah has created every animal from water. Of them are some that creep on their bellies, some that walk on two legs, and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills, for truly Allah has power over all things” (24:45). These verses support the scientific theory that life began in the Earth’s oceans.
While Islam recognizes the general idea of the development of life in stages, over some time, human beings are considered as a special act of creation. Islam teaches that human beings are a unique life form that was specially created by Allah, with unique gifts and abilities unlike
